Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea
قصة: عشرون ألف فرسخ تحت سطح البحر
الفصل الأول: لغز وحش البحر
1. In the mid-nineteenth century, sailors across the oceans reported a strange creature.
في منتصف القرن التاسع عشر، أبلغ البحارة عبر المحيطات عن مخلوق غريب.
2. Ships claimed to have seen a huge "sea monster", moving faster than whales and smashing ships with terrible force.
زعمت السفن أنها رأت وحشاً بحرياً ضخماً، يتحرك أسرع من الحيتان ويحطم السفن بقوة مرعبة.
3. Newspapers described it as both marvelous and terrifying.
وصفته الصحف بأنه مذهل ومرعب في آن واحد.
4. Public debate grew so intense that a voyage was launched to capture or kill the beast.
أصبح النقاش العام شديداً لدرجة أنه تم إطلاق رحلة بحرية للقبض على الوحش أو قتله.
5. Professor Pierre Aronnax, a French marine scientist, was invited to join the voyage.

10. Cannon fire and harpoons were launched.
تم إطلاق نيران المدافع والحراب.
11. Suddenly, the "monster" turned and hit the ship with its steel-like body. Aronnax and his companions were thrown into the sea.
فجأة، استدار "الوحش" وضرب السفينة بجسمه الذي يشبه الفولاذ. تم إلقاء أروناكس ورفاقه في البحر.
12. Struggling to survive, they swam toward the mysterious creature.
كافحوا من أجل البقاء على قيد الحياة، وسبحوا باتجاه المخلوق الغامض.
13. To their astonishment, they discovered it was not an animal at all but a man-made submarine of special design.

الفصل الثاني: أسرى الكابتن نيمو
1. Aronnax, Conseil, and Ned Land were brought inside through an iron door.

2. There, they met the commander: Captain Nemo, a mysterious man of strong will and deep knowledge.

الفصل الثالث: عجائب الاعماق
1. The days that followed showed Aronnax the wonders of the underwater world.

2. He looked through the big windows and saw coral reefs glowing with color, fish of every shape, and shipwrecks resting silently on the ocean floor.
نظر من خلال النوافذ الكبيرة ورأى الشعاب المرجانية تتوهج بالألوان، وأسماكاً بكل شكل، وحطام سفن يستريح بصمت في قاع المحيط.
3. Nemo invited his guests on diving voyages, providing them with special suits that allowed them to walk over the sea bed.
دعا نيمو ضيوفه في رحلات غوص، وزودهم ببدلات خاصة سمحت لهم بالمشي على قاع البحر.
4. One such journey took them through an underwater forest of strange plants, where they hunted and collected samples.
أخذتهم إحدى هذه الرحلات عبر غابة تحت الماء من النباتات الغريبة، حيث اصطادوا وجمعوا عينات.
5. Another led them to the remains of a sunken city, where Nemo hinted at forgotten civilizations swallowed by the waves.
أدتهم رحلة أخرى إلى بقايا مدينة غارقة، حيث ألمح نيمو إلى حضارات منسية ابتلعتها الأمواج.
6. Professor Aronnax recorded everything carefully, making use of the chance to study marine life in ways no scientist had ever done before.
سجل البروفيسور أروناكس كل شيء بعناية، مستغلاً الفرصة لدراسة الحياة البحرية بطرق لم يفعلها أي عالم من قبل.
7. Conseil supported him, naming each creature accurately.
دعمه كونسيه، مسماً كل مخلوق بدقة.
8. But Ned Land grew impatient.
لكن نيد لاند أصبح نفد صبره.
9. Although he was excited at first, he missed freedom.

4. Ned Land, fearless as always, killed the monster.
نيد لاند، الذي لا يعرف الخوف كالعادة، قتل الوحش.
5. Only by great effort did they escape the danger.
فقط بجهد كبير تمكنوا من الهروب من الخطر.
6. Another time, the submarine became trapped beneath thick ice at the South Pole.
مرة أخرى، أصبحت الغواصة محاصرة تحت جليد سميك في القطب الجنوبي.
7. With oxygen running low, the crew worked hard to break a path to the surface.

الفصل السادس: الهروب الي الحربة
1. At last, after many months, the Nautilus neared the coasts of Europe.
أخيراً، بعد عدة أشهر، اقتربت النوتيلوس من سواحل أوروبا.
2. Ned Land saw this as a chance to escape.
رأى نيد لاند في هذه فرصة للهروب.
3. During a strong storm, the three companions secretly lowered a small boat into the sea.
أثناء عاصفة قوية، أنزل الرفاق الثلاثة سراً قارباً صغيراً إلى البحر.
4. They drifted away, because of the storm, yet driven by the hope of freedom.
انجرفوا بعيداً بسبب العاصفة، ومع ذلك كانوا مدفوعين بأمل الحرية.
5. The night was long and dangerous.
كان الليل طويلاً وخطيراً.
6. Waves crashed over them, and the wind threatened to damage their weak craft.
تحطمت الأمواج فوقهم، وهددت الرياح بتدمير مركبهم الضعيف.
7. But at dawn, exhausted and half-conscious, they reached the safety of a shore.

10. He never discovered the full truth about Nemo's past, nor what became of the Nautilus.
لم يكتشف أبداً الحقيقة الكاملة عن ماضي نيمو، ولا ما حدث للنوتيلوس.
11. Did it still explore the depths, hidden from mankind, or had it crashed in the storm?
هل كانت لا تزال تستكشف الأعماق، مخفية عن البشر، أم تحطمت في العاصفة؟
12. The story closed not with final answers but with a lesson.
